"Flow"

Flow is a hyper-focued state of attention which results in a burst of mental performance. Many highly creative people have learned how to manage their flow state. There are some slang expressions for it, such as "in the zone", "in the groove", a creative "high", but flow had not been extensively recognized or studied formally prior to Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi's work.
